StoryFirst, then Pinewood Television, was founded as a joint venture with London’s historic Pinewood Studios in 2016.

The three Pinewood Television founders; Lord Michael Grade (ex-Pinewood Studios Chairman, ex-BBC Chairman, ex-ITV Chairman, current Ofcom Chairman), Peter Gerwe (Media Entrepreneur), and Ivan Dunleavy (17 year Pinewood CEO) then bought out Pinewood Studios’ interest and renamed the company StoryFirst.

Through our subsidiary company Twelve Town, past projects include The Child in Time (BBC, starring Benedict Cumberbatch), Max Anger: With One Eye Open (Viaplay), and Jordskott II (ITV; Honourable Mention for New York Times best foreign language series of the decade in 2020).

StoryFirst forthcoming projects include: in production, Sherlock & Daughter starring David Thewlis for The CW and Warner Bros. Discovery and the previously announced Hot Air, with Universal International Studios, to star Andrew Garfield, with David Leitch directing.

Through our subsidiary company StoryFirst Entertainment, StoryFirst has a partnership for a slate of projects with Rod Gunner, former COO of the Robert Stigwood Group (Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and the global management of Eric Clapton, The Bee Gees & Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber). Rod was also worldwide COO of Michael Flatley’s "Lord Of The Dance" organisation and his personal clients have included King Charles, Diana, Princess Of Wales, Walt Disney and NFL Europe among many others.
